I listened to Kerry's speech this afternoon/evening and after hearing it i just cant imagine why anyone in their right mind would honestly think bush is/would be a better president. i tried to put myself in a situation where bush would work out better for me, and the only thing i could think of is if i was a multimillion dollar large corporation owner. not that there's anything wrong with being that, but thats the only reason i could see why you would support him, so that you could save a couple hundred thousand to buy yourself a new yacht or whatever.
i had a brief conversation with a girl in sushi world when i was there with mac a while ago, about kerry not being "a real vietnam veteran." i just cant understand how people could think that. because he joined veterans against the vietnam war after he came back makes him not a real vietnam veteran? because his purple hearts were "flesh wounds" makes them not purple hearts?
anyway, back to the speech. i really liked the point about making america respected again in the world, because it really sucks when you travel overseas and you have to pretend like you're canadian because everybody thinks americans are dumbasses because of what we've done with iraq and whatnot. i wish i could be proud to be american, but after travelling through missouri and seeing what like 50% or more of america was...yuck.
oh and if you didnt know, a vote for ralph nader is a vote for george bush.
