Truck Stuff, Dog Stuff, Random Stuff

Busy weekend as usual.

So, Friday night, Dave was a good neighbor. The people living next to us needed to borrow our truck. They said they needed it to make one trip to go pick up some dressers for their daughters. I had just recently allowed them to borrow the truck to go get a bed. It's the nice thing to do. Dave had given them permission, which I was fine with. Except that we weren't going to be home when they brought the truck back because we were gone to karaoke. That kinda bugged me and it nagged at me the whole night.

Now, we leant them the truck around 6 o'clock Friday night. We got back to the house at 2 in the morning Saturday and...the truck wasn't in the driveway. And, the neighbor's car wasn't in their driveway. I was so pissed.

They left a note on our door saying that they had left at 1:50 a.m. to make another trip to somewhere to get more stuff.

I was so livid that Dave said he would stay up until they returned the truck. Of course, I couldn't get any sleep anyway, so I ended up staying up as well, drifting in and out of sleep every once in awhile.

The didn't return our truck until about 5 in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was so ticked at them. That they would take advantage of us like that. We were nice enough to lend them out truck and they just overstepped. Which sucks because we were actually building a neighborly relationship with them, which was nice. But now? We are both so mad.

We didn't even have time to confront them about it because when we woke up, we had to go back to the Ford dealership to sign new loan papers. We walked out, Dave threw what was left in the truck of their stuff onto their lawn and we were leaving when the guy comes and gives us $25 for gas. We just took it and left.

I really wish Dave would've confronted them. They needed to know that what they did was wrong. If we'd been home and they had asked us to use the truck again, that would've been different. But the fact that they used it for something they hadn't let us know about really ticks me off. And that they were gone with it so long and at a weird time of night. They have to have known that we were concerned about our truck even if they left some lame note.

So, we just barely started building this neighbor relationship and there is already a huge rift. Dumb people. Not to mention, anyone who gets between me and my sleep is seriously cruisin' for a bruisin'.

Dave doesn't have his license. It was revoked because he was dumb and didn't realize that a cop had actually given him a ticket and not a warning and so when he went to get it renewed, they ended up taking it away. This happened like two years ago. Yes, it's irresponsible of him to keep driving, but it is practically impossible to acquire a license in this town because only one DMV does the driving test. So annoying.

Anyway, I told that story to tell you this story. The bank that had finally decided to give us a loan to buy the car despite some credit trouble we were having decided that once they looked and saw Dave didn't have a license that they'd have to revoke the loan. So, Ford had to set us up with another loan.

I went in there acting like a real jerk, but ended up getting humbled because the guy really did work some magic for us. He took more money off the truck. And he also made it so we wouldn't have to make a payment until August. So, by then, we will have been driving the truck for 3 months without a payment! So, it was annoying, but he really did right by us even though I was angry about the whole thing. Not to mention, as Dave brought up, if he was able to do this for us now, why couldn't he have done it for us the first time around? The first time around, they made it sound like we didn't have any options. Oh well, it's done and over with now. Thank goodness.

Well, the dogs were looking horrible because of molting, so I decided to finally break down and brush them. Max, being a short-haired dog was done getting most of the icky hair off of him in like 20 minutes. And that was just me brushing him because he was liking it. Missy...she is so hairy. Long, thick hair. Ugh. I brushed her for like an hour and barely made a noticeable dent. And her sides still look horrible. Her hair was so bad, I could just pull tufts of it out without even using a brush. I need to take her in to get her groomed, I'm just worried about our money situation right now. So, the brushing I did on Sunday will just have to do.

After brushing them, we decided to take them to get a bath. On the opposite side of town from us, there is a "Dog and Car Wash". I'm not kidding. One side is for washing your cars, the other side is for washing your dogs. Best business idea EVER!

On the doggie side are two truck beds. They've deocrated them and divided them long ways down the middle to make 4 stalls. You load your dog up in them, they give you a chain to put on the dogs to hold them, and then you can wash your dogs. It is so much easier to wash your dogs when you are standing up! They even provide the shampoo and towels if you want to use their stuff. AND there is a dryer! It was a great experience. It was $26.60 for both dogs (including 10% off the second dog). It will be cheaper next time because we'll take our own shampoo and towels; then it will only be $10 a dog. But, in anycase, it is definitely worth driving all the way to the Northside of town.

I never thought I'd enjoy giving the dogs a bath.

Last week, King Sooper's had their bell peppers on sale for 10 for $10, so Dave and I have had our bell pepper salad four times! *laugh* We get all four colors of bell peppers (red, orange, yellow, green), mushrooms, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Chop it all up, throw it in a bowl and mix it up and Voila! Bell Pepper Salad. It is beyond delicious. I highly recommend it. But only if you have a garden or the peppers are on sale. Otherwise, they are pretty darn expensive (Upwards of $2/pepper here).

Dave is still out of work. *sigh* Though, he has a couple of good prospects. It is just annoying. But, there is a light in the distance. Dave reminded me that once he gets a job, I'll be able to put ALL our karaoke money towards paying off debt. I'm really excited about that! Right now I'm putting any extra karaoke money (when we sub for someone else) towards the Wells Fargo credit card, and I just pay it anytime I have that extra money because it puts more of the money towards the principle. But, I can't wait for Dave to start working because I can really start knocking out this debt!!! So excited! I can't wait to be debt free!

Well, I'm sure that's more than enough! Until next time.
