Prophecy Granger Snape Proposal (note shameless key word abuse)

Jun 04, 2007 21:31

What does one say when one hasn't posted for six months? I'm alive? Oh, yay! I've been thinking about posting for weeks now, for months ... but then an inner voice always kicks in: "You idiot. They think you're dead or gone to Antarctica." And the longer you wait, the more idiotic you feel ( Read more... )

:o) Good, I can sit in on another one of your lectures! I'll be there, with bells on my toes (and quite possibly that will be literally with bells on my toes).

LOL! So if I hear a lot of ringing, does that mean you're kicking the a** of the fanfic-writer-hating journalist sitting in front of you? I do hope so!

Oh I'll be kicking someone (and it's probably one of the event coordinations for this {not poor CC though}) cause I'm very unhappy with how this event is being run, in comparison to Lumos (which bad food aside) was lovely.

If there is a fanfic-writer-hating journalist there, we can tie him/her up and read him/her loads of bad sex smut that is published, and then our good stuff.

?? It hasn't begun yet--and now I'm curious, if you'd be willing to share.

Have you run into some snags, Celis? Conferences are an absolute bugger to organize successfully ... but CC's so overworked, which can't be good. (I must remember to volunteer!)

Ack. That's pretty awful, on both counts. *keeps mum*

I looked for savageland's abstract on Prophecy's site, but either I'm looking in the wrong place or they haven't posted their accepted programming. hmm.

Thanks, Celis. What a pity. Let's hope your experiences from this point on are somewhat more positive.

I gather from CC that the program is still under construction. Just a few days ago I was asked to submit a 150-word summary of my proposal, so things seem to be in motion.

Just a few days ago

Eep? *eyes calendar*

Hurray for holding a Potter conference in Canada again, but I wish this organizational group had been able to benefit from another Potter con's experience. At this date they can't really expect to have the programming lure anyone into registering, which kind of dampens the programming's importance, IMO. (At least, I don't have the discretionary funds to purchase a ticket on short notice! and I'm fairly sure it isn't just me.) I think Phoenix Rising managed a 3-5 month lead time between programming announcements and con date....

They've hit a few snags, but it's still two months away, so they have time to iron everything out (hopefully). I know some of the volunteers are doing everything they can to make this a success, so my fingers are crossed.
