Invader

Brilliant and blinding
this light I've never seen
shines brightly all around
enveloping me in warmth
infusing my veins with joy
happiness so great I want to scream
and yell from a'top of the highest mountain.

What is this thing I'm feeling
the swelling of a heart
long thought to be dead and lost
now filled with an emotion
I cannot define
I am stranger to its presence
unsure and insecure
unknowing if I should trust this invader of my life.

The darkness and despair
I've come to embrace
is nowhere to be found
I can't see its familiar face
I don't know what to do
I don't know how to proceed
But deep inside I'm realizing
You're everything I need.
