Things to think about when you forget your Ipod
Hello there to all my imaginary friends,
I was thinking today about the tradition of saying, "Bless you" when someone sneezes. Now, as far as I've ever read, this is to stop the Devil from jumping into someone through their mouth while they're a little out of it after a sneeze. Which on the face of it, makes a kind of sense. I then wondered if it had anything to do with people being leery of having sex as sinful and bad because after having an orgasm (or at least at the point of orgasm) you're also similarly unconscious for a moment or two, adn the Devil could get in more easily. There have also been studies showing that sneezing also trips a part of your brain involved in orgasm, so the two are somewhat linked. Not that people 600 years ago knew that.
The whole guilt about sex is bad, and pleasure is sinful thing aside. I kind of thought the two things could be linked or at least related. Just something that gave me pause for a moment this morning.
