.588 -- Remix Redux.

I've been panicking a little over the last week, ever since I received my Remix assignment. The author that I've been assigned has written some amazing fics in their fandom, but they all focus on characters that I either haven't written before or aren't comfortable writing. And the imagination that goes into their fics is beyond me. I readily admit that. So yeah, big freak out, because they haven't written in any other fandom so this one was all I had to work with.

I spent the day today just reading through their more lengthy pieces (previously I'd only had the time to read through their smaller ones) and getting a good feel for the author. I know that Remix is all about doing it your way, but I always like to keep something that was important to the original, like the message or the tone or the pairing, in my Remix.

And now I think I've finally found something I can work with. Not only that, but I'm genuinely excited about it, because the idea I got has had some kind of knock-on effect and now I just can't stop thinking. Oh, man. I can't wait to actually write this.

I've also been reading a few Rogue/Remy fics over the past few days. I think the Wolverine movie and it's screwy timeline has me jonsing for the pairing that I'm probably not going to see on the big screen now.

So obviously I'm looking for some fic recs if anyone has any. Fire 'em my way! I don't care what 'verse they're set in as long as it's well-written and IC.

Also, I have two Dreamwidth codes if anybody wants one. Let me know.

tv: x-men, fanfic: ramblings
