.516 -- An Update.

I finally have my laptop back. And it has a brand new motherboard, which is probably the least they could do, considering they completely fucked up my laptop when they put in a new disc drive. How is that possible? Anyway, it's running a lot better now. All that's left is to find time to write fic, because I so badly want to make up for the really weak entry I submitted for the Draco/Hermione fic exchange. I don't think it was necessarily a bad fic. I just know it wasn't my best, and I get antsy when I don't write my best. It takes me back to the days when I use to reel off really bad fic, unaware that I wasn't really learning anything or even attempting to learn anything. Sigh.

I spent the weekend catching up on my shows. It really was a lazy few days. I got so drunk on Friday (the drunkest I've been in a very, very long time) that I couldn't physically do anything Saturday. So I spent that and Sunday watching Ugly Betty and Heroes so I was all caught up for season three. Ugly Betty I'm still loving as much as ever. Heroes I wasn't so impressed with. Season two just seemed so lacklustre. Hopefully season three will be better.

I still have a few more shows to catch up on. House primarily, because I've missed a lot of it. I saw the first two episodes of True Blood and I'd like to see where it's headed. I'm considering trying out Fringe and I really want to watch Lost in Austen in full.

Smallville I've given up on entirely. I think I'm about one or two seasons behind and I find I have no compulsion to catch up. I just don't want to. Even Chloe and Oliver aren't enough to get me through this series anymore. I don't know why I bothered with it after season four/five. So that's been scratched off my list now. For those who read my Chloe fics, don't worry. I'll still be writing The Future Adventures of Chloe Sullivan and other fics, but they'll be based on the Chloe I know from season one to season six-ish. Anything after that I'll have no knowledge of.

I'm also caught up on Bones and Supernatural. I actually have quite a bit to say about episode three of Supernatural. I've made notes and the like, but I'm having problems with my eyes at the moment (is it bad when even your optician is worried?) and it makes it hard to be on the computer for a long period of time. It doesn't help that I spend nine hours a day in front of one at work. Gah. I just hope I managed to get them sorted before Saturday because it's my best friend's leaving party and I don't want to scare people. Which is what I'm doing right now. My eyes have gone from simply being bloodshot to being completely red. There's no white to be seen. I look like a demon, and I'm not exaggerating. My optician said that when he examined by eyes, they looked like the surface of the moon, peppered with dots/holes. Even he can't explain it, so now I have to go back to see the optician that deals with my contact lenses and see if he knows what it is.

So that's pretty much it from me. Apart from watching my shows, I've been working, reading, swimming and trying to have a social life, too. Can I retire yet?
