ArcTic continues his journey through the Tundra. He had been exploring unknown depths and aiding in the building of the world. As he stops to rest, he spots a messanger run up to him. ArcTic was being summoned to the Emo tribe. They had found an artifact that required ArcTic's attention. He quickly moves and soon finds himself within the walls of the Emo tribe.
The priestess greets ArcTic and leads him to the site. They were digging and found a box. It was ornately decorated with roses and thorns. A familarity with the box resonated within ArcTic's mind, but was unable to place where. One of the workers broke off the lock and started to unlatch the box. That is when ArcTic remembered where the box came from and more importantly, why he burried it in the first place. ArcTic yelled for everyone to clear the area. The people evacuated the site just as the worker opened the box. A dark swarm burst out from the box and soon crippled the worker onto the ground. ArcTic launced and Ice Blast at it, but it only stunned the swarm for a moment before it targeted ArcTic. Before ArcTic had time to react, the swarm engulfed him. It filled his head with a darkness, but was overpowered by the peircing that came from his heart. He staggered for a bit, trying to stay on his feet, but the pain in his heart was too much to take and he soon collapsed to the ground. ArcTic was quickly searching for a way out of this trap, any trick he could muster. He was coming up short.
It was at that point when he heard a melody in the air. He looked up, trying to find where the sound came from. Though his mind was racing, filled with confusion and doubt, ArcTic thought he saw a person dressed in white. This person was emmitting a sort of light around him. It must have been the confusion of the moment, but ArcTic thought for a moment that this person looked just like himself! The person removed his sunglasses and winked at ArcTic, still singing the song, then turned around and headed off.
ArcTic understood what that person was saying. It wasn't the words of the song, but the song in itself. And then with that song now in his head, ArcTic caught his mind and brought it back to focus. The dark swarm still spinning around, trying to choke out the light in ArcTic's life, but ArcTic started to hum the song. With this song, ArcTic realized his strength. He knew that this song means much to him, and him alone. This was his song. ArcTic found himself there in the dark swarm. He knew that despite the waging confusion around him, that wasn't him. He stood inside the swarm, but wasn't apart of it. ArcTic took back to his feet and started to stand. He started to understand who he was was far from anyone else, but that is why he is important. He has to safeguard the Tundra and was given that responsibility only. This swarm, this dispair, this torment, it isn't him. It was something that happened, but no longer holds sway. And with that thought, ArcTic's heart came back from the pain and ArcTic's energy returned to him. He summoned his energy again, charging his gauntlets. This time, he took his fist and threw it hard into the ground simultaneously releasing the energy and emitting a powerful blast that mixed with the mud and caked the dark swarm in dirt and ice dissappating the dark swarm into nothing.
Arctic stands triumphant, another demon slayed. He lets out a deep breath. He knows that now he has that much more freedom in his life and feels lighter on his feet. He walks up to the box, holds it one more time, then walks over and drops it in the recycling bin. He has no more use for it. He is free.
