Title: Plane Connections.
Fandoms: Supernatural/Merlin.
Characters: Sam, Dean and Gwen.
Rating: PG-13 (some very mild swearing)
Spoilers: Up to 1x04 for SPN, none for Merlin
A/N: The fic takes place right after SPN episode “Phantom Traveler”. It’s just a silly little story about the flight trip back. I decided to mix the guys up with Gwen from Merlin, cause I love the character and well because I can lol!
Also a big hug and thank you to the lovely
starry_laa for being my beta. You are such a sweetheart bb..:D
Feedback would be great, especially since it’s my first fic ever and I’m almost dying here..:D

When she stepped out of the plane the sun was not shining, the day didn’t look bright and her spirit definitely wasn’t improving. She missed her friends back home, but she had to stay positive. This journey of hers was a good thing and she needed this. She needed to get away from all the trouble back home and one year of uni in the States would hopefully make her get some distance from all the hardship.
“Focus Gwen” she said to try and calm herself. She had to find the transfer gate to flight 411, as to take one teeny weeny flight more and she could begin, what she hoped would be a new and brighter year. Now if only this airport wasn’t so darn big…

Flight 411 was rather small compared to the one she had arrived to the States in, and she quickly found her seat. ‘Hooray a spot by the window!’ she thought rather pleased and slid by the two guys sitting in the same row. When seated she scanned the plane and finally rested her eyes on the guys next to her. From what she could see, the one right beside her was tall, broad-shouldered with short, sandy brown hair and was possibly a few years older than her. The other one was about her own age. He was even taller and broader shouldered than the first one. His hair was a bit longer and darker, but otherwise you could see the resemblance to the first guy. They had to be brothers. Gwen’s eyes lingered on the two men. They looked really good in a rough kind of way...
“Focus Gwen” she chastised herself, she really didn’t need thoughts like that. Men or rather two men in particular were a big part of why she went to the States in the first place. Her thoughts were interrupted when the younger guy turned and spoke to her.
“Excuse me?” he said looking slightly confused.
‘Oh my, did I speak out loud?’ Gwen could feel a blush coming on.
“Did she say locust? Why did she say locust?” the guy next to her said with wide eyes and a strained tone. He looked like he was ready to hurl. His hands were gripping the seat and his knuckles where white as a sheet. He quickly snapped his head to look from Gwen to the other man.
“Sammy I can’t deal with locusts now. We’re not in Egypt man, and you’re definitely not Charlton Heston! Could my life get any weirder? Man!” He exclaimed heavily and continued. “ Tell me again why we had to get on this flying piece of junk - AGAIN?”
“Dammit Dean relax, there are no locusts here! And you know why! We agreed, this was the quickest way back to your baby!” Sam said in an aggravated tone while rolling his eyes on the last word.
Dean groaned loudly and continued to grip the seat like his life depended on it.
Gwen looked at the two men. “Excuse me, but I didn’t say locust. I was just telling myself to focus, that’s all.”
“Yeah sweetheart, focus on what?” The man called Dean smirked at her, his discomfort apparently slightly forgotten for the moment.
“Oh, nothing.” Gwen blushed again, those hassle eyes of his were mesmerizing and she had a hard time looking away.
“I’m Dean and this is my brother Sammy” Dean winked at her.
“My name is SAM, god dammit!”
“Oh sorry,” Gwen fidgeted due to the outburst.
“No, no it wasn’t directed at you, just…psssnfk,” Sam rolled his eyes, flailed his hands and generally looked annoyed. Gwen decided to just shut up, lean back and try to enjoy the ride in silence, because the plane was about to take off.

The last 30 minutes had been uneventful, well, besides several panic attacks from the man called Dean. Currently, he was quite calm, and to Gwen’s amusement it actually sounded like he was singing - badly!
“Are you humming that Metallica song again?” She heard Sam say.
Dean stopped and turned to Sam with a dangerous glare: “Yeah it calms me down, so?”
Sam chuckled: “So nothing. This is just like riding the Impala, Dean.”
Dean looked outraged: “This is nothin’ like riding my baby!”
Gwen felt herself go red; she did not need to hear about Dean and his... whatever he was riding! But still the two guys intrigued her. They were nothing like the guys she knew back home and most of what they said sounded downright odd. So she continued to listen in on their conversation.
“Look man, this is nothing new. The worst part was over, when we ganked that Dem..” Sam’s eyes squinted shortly to Gwen. “..ahem.. dentist on the first flight. So calm down and enjoy the rest of the ride, would ya!”
Gwen bit her lip. ‘Did he just say that he ganked a dentist? What does a dentist have to do with Dean’s fear of flying and what on earth does “gank” mean? Americans really are weird’. Gwen missed home once again.
Sam immediately knew that Gwen had heard him, when he noticed the confused expression on her face. Damage control was needed and what better way than to have Dean use his Neanderthal charm on her? That would give Dean something to do beside hyperventilating and Sam could finally take a well deserved rest from his annoying big brother, who wouldn’t admit he was scared shitless.
“Hey Dean,” Sammy whispered. “I think the girl overheard us, can’t you talk to her, get her to relax?”
Dean looked annoyed. “Why me? I’m busy Sammy!”
Sam ran his hands over his face and sighed. “Doing what exactly?”
“Singing man!” Dean almost shouted and went back to clutching his seat again.
“Too bad!” Sam said faking indifference. “’Cause she’s a looker.” He continued in a whisper. “Besides you really need to get your mind on other things than impending plane-crash-doom”.
Dean looked in Gwen’s direction. ‘Yeah, she definitely is a looker. That long curly black hair and the mouth... I’ll bet kissing her, will taste like sweet apple pie’. At this point Dean was actually drooling.
Sam chuckled and slightly shook his head in disbelief of how easily his older brother was distracted. But mission accomplished, because Dean’s fear of flying was forgotten for the moment as he turned toward the nice girl by the window and said in his most alluring voice:
“So beautiful, I never caught your name..?”
Gwen lost her previous train of thought as she turned her head and looked into his hassle eyes. “Guinevere, but my friends call me Gwen”, she said with a timid smile.
Little did she know that visiting the States was going to be a more unforgettable experience than she could have ever hoped and dreamed of.
