An update for the Padre
What a glorious day. We had Teen Discipleship Program at camp this past weekend so bossman gave me the day off today. And it is fantastic. Went to bed around 1-ish last night, woke up at 11:30 today to a fresh cup of coffee (with Marshmellow Mocha Creme I might add), Jason Mraz, and my book "Blue Like Jazz." Could the day get any better? Oh yes it could! My new mattress is coming today so my room can be complete, AND Charity is having a dinner party/game night tonight!
So time to talk about this past weekend. We had TDP (Teen Discipleship Program) this weekend at camp...and that has to be one of my favorite programs! Again, another reason why I love youth ministry. I got to be a counselor again this weekend and it was great! I miss those days...don't get me wrong, I love being the program director, but the counselor actually gets to hang out with the kids all day and the program director doesn't. I always love the late-night girl talk and no sleep.
Anyway, Saturday we had about 3 hours of free time...but forgot to get lifeguards so we couldn't open the pool (we have an indoor pool, don't worry). So we decided that ghetto-sledding would be a better idea. We had a big ice storm the night before so everything was completely covered in ice, and Cardboard tends to work very well on ice :) Well, I'm pretty sure my body hated it because the next day I woke up and was like "umm...why in the world does my entire front of my body hurt?" Oh yeah, definitely from ghetto-sledding.
So it was a great weekend, but I'm so glad to have the day off today! Either my allergies are kickin' in hardcore or I'm getting sick. But it's one of those things were my head is congested, but it's not bad enough for me to take any meds for it, or call off. If I'm gonna get sick, I might as well get sick...none of this "middle of the road" junk. Then again, it could be caused from the weather. So sunshine, you better come out soon!
Anyways, moving on. Last night went to dinner with Steph and Cicily...and that's always fun! Loads and loads of storytelling and guy drama. haha. So, they were telling me how they joined plentyoffish.com...an online dating site...so I broke down and joined too. I've never been all about the online thing, but we'll see. And hey, it's one of the only decent FREE sites so I'm not losing money on it :)
That's about it for now. Thursday going to see Tobymac, Jeremy Camp, and Matthew West with some of the 3fold group. Should be great! Junior Soldier Rally Saturday, then finally get to go back to Indian Creek on Sunday! Next few weekends are CRAZY busy because the weekend after that I have to go to Evansville Corps for their prom (which that's gonna be a blast so I'm looking forward to that) and then back to camp for a band retreat/staff reunion (again...another great weekend!) Then a break...FINALLY. :) But overall...life is wonderful!
