Okay, I think it's fairly obvious that red velvet cakes/cupcakes are my favorite. Red velvet is the cupcake I always get whenever we buy from Sonja's, my 18th birthday cake was a red velvet ice cream cake...you get the picture. (Except the fake red velvet cake at Red Ribbon. Ugh.)
Last summer, before I came back to Manila, my grandmother and I tried out this red velvet cupcake recipe from the bakery in LA that supposedly specializes in it. It was featured in an episode of Bobby Flay's Throwdown, so after watching that episode I immediately downloaded the recipe. The cupcakes came out pretty well, and I brought a couple back here with me. (Blogged about that
here.)
My cousin arrived from San Francisco early this morning, and she brought back red velvet cupcakes she made with my grandmother. Now, I know that the cupcakes aren't just for me, but still - my grandmother chose to make my favorite, and not anyone else's. HAHA. So yes, that makes me feel extra special and I am extremely touched. :)) And yeah, I miss my grandma and everyone else back there. :(
OMG my cousin brought back TV Guide back issues too! YAAAAAAAAAAY.
