Except for I Heart Huckabees, The Aviator and 21 Grams (that I haven't seen yet), I love all the movies on your list :)

The Godfather was better! Have you seen Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Das Boot, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly or The Seven Samurai? I'm not immediately sure why, but these were the first films that came to mind when I thought of The Godfather. Also, 21 Grams was kind of slow, and creepy. If it weren't for Benicio Del Toro, I'm not sure 21 Grams would have even been in the Top-10. Also, I haven't seen alot of the films I would suspect should have been on my list, like Coffee & Cigarettes.

If you ever get the chance, download Klaus Nomi from me. I discovered him due to Morrissey, and apparently he worked with Bowie. You'll love him!

21 Grams was great, but Amores Porres was far better. Same director, same writer, same type of story, but in Spanish. It can't be beat.
Also, COffee & Cigarettes is poorly acted (except for Kate/Cate Blanchett's part), and terribly boring (except for Bill Murray and the RZA and GZA, the Genius).

I liked your lists though, Robbie. They make me want to make my own lists. My own Top Ten lists.

Did you ever end up watching Spartacus? Julie mentioned to me that you always picked it up in the video store, but never rented it. If so, what did you think? If not, you must see it. I nearly returned it before putting it on, but as luck would have it, I did not. From this moment on, I shall never curse my luck again! This film was among the best I have ever seen.

Hooray!

I haven't seen it, but I do not doubt it immensity. It is a Kubrick, after all, and he was a man who took few missteps in life.

Well, don't waste any more time. I don't think I'm too far out of line in saying that it may even be Kubrick's greatest film.

You sir, are far out of line, for what could stop A Clockwork Orange, or even 2001: A Space Odyssey?
What, I ask, could stop Barry Lyndon?

Spartacus could! Especially 2001: A Space Odyssey!

That movie left me scrambling for an answer. THE answer as to why I wasn't paid to watch it.

Though I admire Stanley Krubick, I have to say....what ruined the Krubick expeirience for me was I chose A Clockwork Orange for my first Krubick film. It was ok, but a little out there for me. At the time I wasn't aware of how strange and unique his movies and idea's were, but the other ones I saw were much better like eyes wide shut, and I still have yet to see full metal jacket.
SO for any first time Krubick watchers out there, I would advise against A Clockwork Orange for your first Krubick film, but not to forget about it all together :D

are you kidding?
a clockwork orange is a beautiful piece of film, it's dedicated, it has a wonderful idea about society reflected in the individual.
you could talk about that film in so many ways.
it's wonderful written, shot and acted. the story line is gorgeous, the intercuts, the ludwig, the crucifix!
the everything.

Agreed! I think The Godfather (specially part I and II) is one of my favourite movies. I've seen Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and The Seven Samurai, but sadly I haven't seen Das Boot yet, though I'd really love to - I can't find it for rent anywhere :(
Have you seen Once Upon a Time in America?

Cool! I'll download Klaus Nomi from you then!
