I just read an article in Marie Claire Australia about a couple's battle with breast cancer. What really touched me was the brutal honesty and sincerity of the husband in regards to losing his wife not to death, but perhaps to the pressure of battling the cancer. This was due to the fact that some couples spilt up after going through such a challenge together. I mean I am not some mushy person, in fact romantic lines can sometimes make me gag or roll my eyes. But, one line that he said was sweet and it is, " we were a couple under siege, but we were still a couple." Somehow, it struck a chord within me.
