I finally got to see Deerhoof live tonight! It was wonderful and exciting.
I've decided to sign up for the
NYC Triathlon (July 22, 2007) about which I am super excited. My friend Justin is running in the NYC Marathon on sunday, his first marathon, and he is an inspiration. The nyc tri is an olympic-length race, twice as long as any i've done before... so I am nervous and motivated and also insane. Mark your calendars, because I'd love to have some of you all come out to support me. and it's a great excuse to visit new york...
Sadly, the craziness of school has meant that i haven't been training nearly as much as i need to be. SO. tomorrow i'm going to take my bike to central park and see how that goes. I need to start logging the miles... 24 is kind of a lot, especially when it's preceeded by a 1500 m swim and followed by a 10k run. But I have at least, once, biked more than 24 miles at a stretch. This is more than I can currently say for the swim or the run, but hey. I have until July.
I am also sort of lost and lonely, but I guess in the righteous sort of way that I know i'm making a good decision for myself, even though it might kind of hurt a lot. Also, I have wonderful supportive friends here (as well as at home, i know.) which makes things a tad easier. I'm going to my friend's 22nd birthday party tomorrow, which totally makes me feel old, and then I remember that I'm actually 23. It's funny, how the world works.
