Can I see your office/guest bedrooms, please? Our guest bedroom has to function as both.

I don't have a picture of it right now because we have recently moved but I use a roll top desk in my guest room for my office stuff.

I should also add that we have a desktop computer, so roll top desks won't work, I don't think. Plus, we're considering upgrading to an iMac soon.

I just put my craft space/office in the corner of the master bedroom. I'm not thrilled with how you walk into the room and see the back of the TV - but when I put a cover over it, it just blew off with the fan in the summer. But...anyhow -

There's always the option to mount a small flat panel television to the back of the dresser. You may be able to find a smaller one pretty cheap during any Black Friday sales, if you live in the US.

Could you drape a pretty fabric over the top/back of the TV, and then set a heavy decorative item (picture frame, etc.) on top to keep it from blowing or falling off?

I draped fabric originally and it looked well better than it does. But it blew off. and the top of the TV is slanted just enough to make it near impossible to weight it. But now that the weather has cooled off we don't use the fan as much, so I'll recover it.

We don't have our third bedroom set up yet (it will be my office / guest bedroom / sewing room) but we have a futon in there that will be a bed when we have guests and a small couch when we don't. You could also get a single futon mattress so that it can be a chair as well as a bed.

not mine, this is Sherry and John's guest bedroom/office. they have a little girl who hangs out in here while they work from home, so it's kid friendly as well. check them out at younghouselove.com

Oh very nice. I love the desk. Also pretty in love with that pull out loveseat.
