This stuff is vintage from the 1950s and 60s. It's my fave, Victorian revival.. (not actually Victorian, therefore more affordable ;)). The kind of furniture you see on old episodes of Dark Shadows.
Grandma's lamp. It had a top and bottom globe but the top globe busted during a move. :(
$20 lamp from an antique store:
Grandma's chair:
Sofa from antique dealer.. it was expensive, but I'd give my eye teeth for it! Whatever those are.

Sorry I don't have a better pic of the chair without pillows and a throw on it right now; it has a really cool embossed-looking pattern on the fabric, you can see it on the exposed green upholstery.

Yay thanks! I am planning a trip to Goodwill this weekend. One of the other members of this group found a Victorian Revival couch just like mine, but pink, and only $70!! At Goodwill! Maybe she will re-post it in this thread. No more antique stores for me!

my bf got a pink wingback chair from an antique store - mmmm more like a junk store - for only 20 bucks. the fabric could use a good steam cleaning, but otherwise the construction is really nice. the spring in the cushion is still ... very springy! i personally like antique stores, but i agree it's not terribly healthy for your wallet :P
i'm going to an antique yard sale during lunch today. hopefully i can find some things amid the doll lamps...

I'd love to see that chair, it sounds neat! Sometimes antique stores do have good bargains, but I'm too much of a sucker to be trusted among those expensive things! Good luck at the yard sale (I love doll lamps lol)!

as promised, the hot pink mess of a wingback chair:
the colour looks more subdued in this photo, but really, it's pretty pink.
the reason it took me so long to take the pictures - i was busy reupholstering my antique dining chairs:
close up:
4 down. 2 more to go :)
also, i didn't mention, but i just recently acquired the following neo-victorian couch in the picture. i haven't had a chance to take a pic of it in its new setting, but here it is from craigslist photo (it really does look better in my apartment!!)
