Also, the pet tag in this comm has some pretty good ideas, if you haven't looked through those. I want to build a window seat and have the cat's litter box on one end and food on the other. Build because I haven't found anything big enough to hold it yet.
I actually got the idea for ours FROM Ikea hacker... we just don't have an Ikea near us. (That, and I think that husband was excited to have an excuse to play with his new miter saw.)
I plan on repurposing an idea I saw on a wedding community, and if I remember correctly it may have been the wedding of one of the mods or frequent posters here? not sure i may be mixing up weddings!
anyway, they sprayed real leaves silver. I thought about gathering fall leaves and painting them with metallic gold, bronze, and copper spray paint, and placing them in a clear or wooden bowl. or even glittering some like martha stewart's glitter pumpkins.
