Furniture Rehab: Stripping Wood Stool Legs

lepapillonvert asked me to share this over here (originally from my blog) since it might help out some DIYers in this neck of the woods.

I recently found this mid-century stool at an estate sale and my husband finagled it down to $5. We of course took it home and I have set out to peel away the layers of grime and dated finishes to make it lovely again.

Hm. The smell didn't bother me. I did everything outside though, so none of the smells were very strong. I don't feel comfortable working on any projects like this in our tiny apartment.

Making a note about the extra step though. Thank you!

I loved Citrustrip. After the 3M stuff didn't work on my door, I used CS and it was gorgeous. Maybe you're allergic?

And I only cleaned up with DNA, too. Never needed anything more.

Haha. What can I say? I'm a sucker for products. I saw "sooper special after-wash" and it ended up in my basket. Good to note for the next time to just use the denatured alcohol.
