In July 2009 when we first moved into our home the master bath was carpeted, painted beige (like the rest of the house), had a slow-draining, 5-foot tub/shower combo, and his and hers closets. Here's the journey.
Before:
The toilet is behind that wall, and there was tile in the toilet area and directly in front of the tub, which you can't see in these first pictures.
Here you can see the tub. We hated this thing, because it was always dirty because it always drained slow. Despite painting, we knew we had to get rid of the carpet and we decided to go ahead and put in a bathroom we'd love.
So, we got a quote from a tiler and I started tearing down the walls.
And these are the results!
(No matter what time of day or what camera setting I use to photograph this paint, it always comes out bluer than it truly is. The color is Mermaid Treasure by Behr and has a greener tint in real life.)
The view from the bedroom:
We used a mirror-polished marble everywhere. While I'm paranoid about scratching, I love it. We usually have mats down to prevent slipping but they were in the wash when I took these.
The Tub! With the extra room we had taking out one closet, we put in a 4'6" x 4' shower and a 6' x 3'6" jetted tub.
Candy dishes I bought off Ebay.
I still have some to work on, like putting things on the walls. We'd like to put in a second sink and are debating putting in separate mirrors or framing the existing one. I'll fill those empty frames above the tub (or some of them, at least) as I find/make things to go in them. But for now, I'm happy with it and love it every time I walk into it.
