My little family and I just bought our very first home about two months ago in a suburb of Houston, TX. It had great potential but needed lots of love to make it how we wanted. We powered through over the course of about three weeks and we're really happy with how it turned out.
HERE BE BEFORE PICTURES:
We painted every single wall in this house. Every. Single One. We also replaced the flooring (ripped out the nasty nasty nasty carpet and put in laminate) in every room except the bathrooms, entry, and kitchen. The dining room light, kitchen light above the sink, master bedroom fan, master bathroom vanity light, and main bathroom vanity light were all replaced.
The entryway. I will fill these cubbies with baskets or something soon.
That brick wall is the other side of the brick wall in the entryway. I know the clock isn't centered to the chair, I just hung it on an existing nail. I can't decide if I should center it with the chair or keep it where it is (centered on the wall). Opinions?
The fireplace I always wanted.
A broader shot of the room.
Moving on to the dining room.
The Lennon wall. We'll be putting lots more frames up as we get them.
View of the backyard.
My beautiful solid wood $125 table and chairs from my local woodlandsonline.com (like Craigs list) :D
Bad lighting but you get the idea.
Our wee little tv, the only one in the house :) Yes I'm proud of that, lol.
Broad shot.
Other side of the doorway to the left of the tv.
The kitchen. Four coats on those cabinets. Soooo tired of painting after this was done lol.
My ancient double oven.
My fail curtains that are an inch too short and don't have finished edges. And yes, dishes in the sink... And all that crap on the right is stuff I borrowed from my mom for our housewarming party...just ignore it.
That door goes to the garage.
Skip back over to the little one's room. Blinds are shut so you can actually see.
Next door is the main bathroom aka Lennon's bathroom.
I hate big frameless mirrors. I got this one at Walmart for $30.
And next to that is the guest room/office. It's a work in progress so I'm not posting pictures yet. Yeahhhh, moving on.
Our bedroom.
Ignore the poster, it's sort of a joke. Ignore the missing switchplate too. There's a few of those throughout, we need to replace them but I keep forgetting.
A broader view of the front patio area. The front door used to be orangey red but we didn't change much else.
Thanks for looking! :)
This is house itself. Someday we may paint the outside but I'm happy with it right now. We'll be doing some landscaping next!
