Totally unrelated to the post but ooh.. Amy Sol icon. Love it. I collect Amy Sol art. So far I've got 3 of her pieces. :)

Oh shut it, get back on the corner where I left you. (hehe)

How come I don't see an xbox on that entertainment center?

The desk is the awesome.

I like it! It might be a bit thematic, but it's in that comforting mac-and-cheese-stuff-we-all-grew-up-with sort of way. Also, Calphalon is the best money I ever spent, second only to the cost of my divorce. :-O

lol What can I say? I like to cook, and my ex-husband wasn't so keen to bother to come home and eat. So. Fuck 'em.

This write up was pretty hilarious. Not sure why I read the whole thing, but it was entertaining. I can't believe you didn't talk about the Eames chair though. Was that thrifted too?

Ah, well, you know, it's so obvious and cliche who needs to talk about it anymore? it's there, it's new, it's DWR, always wanted one, it's why everything else had to come cheap...

EDIT: Although now that I think about it, it was purchased during this year's semi-annual Herman Miller sale, and was about $800 off its regular price.

Your prose reminds me so much of my ex-husband's.

I hope that's a good thing and not why you're not together anymore. :D

i love your narration. it hasn't quite gotten that 'lived-in' feeling yet, but i'm sure it will get there as you settle in. my husband really likes that US print with the license plates, as well. i imagine you got it for a steal at Ross.

your previous apartment was totally awesome, btw. i love the colors. i think that's what's missing in this apartment for me. are you allowed to paint?

I *think* I am, but paint, and installing curtain rods, are things I think I'll leave for if my lease gets renewed.
