I would like to show you my dressing room. It's been a few months in the making but recently I finally finished it and I am so pleased with the way it's turned out.
The chair was in the attic when we moved here and I couldn't leave it there! It's very similar in style to the one in our bedrroom.
The framed black and white photograph is of me and my mum on a beach, taken by my stepdad a few years ago. The floral vase used to belong to my parents and the toy rocking horse was a present from Lord Christopher when I was five. He hosted Christmas parties every year for all of the children who lived on Lydney Park Estate.
There are two wardrobes in here (both filled to bursting). This one holds blouses, t-shirts and knitwear. I adore my vintage suitcases - the red one was my mums and the green one i think belonged to my grandmother.
There really is nothing better than sitting in my window with a cup of tea and a book.
My desk is a battered, falling apart old dressing table. It really is on it's last legs. In an attempt to spruce it up a bit I tried to cover it with wallpaper, however I soon gave up and plan on painting it soon.
My gorgeous shelves were given to me by a friend of my dad. I am so happy with them! The shelves are adjustable and so there is a space for everything in them, The tins are full of sewing bits and pieces (they were my grandma's).
That bag there - that is the redbowbag my username came from. It was a bargain in H&M a few years ago and I used it for everything. It's looking slightly worn out now but I still love it!
I love that my vintage bag collection can be seen now - they used to be kept in baskets. My scarves and hats are arranged perfectly. I just hope I'll be able to keep this neatness up!
On the bottom right hand shelf are all of my Jacqueline Wilson books. I have a soft spot for her writing and would love to read them all again someday. So many of my books are still at home at my parents' house, it's nice to have these colourful lovelies on display though.
I've never lived in an area surrounded by other people before, having grown up on various farms in the middle of nowhere. It's nice to sit in the window and watch people go about their lives. I could people-watch all day.
