hey saucy dwellers!
I've been meaning to post my bedroom for a long while, and I just got a new-to-me double bed &bedframe to replace my twin-mattress-on-the-floor, so I finally feel ready!

I am 22 year old art school graduate, living in a rental in Toronto. my style is kind of classic-eclectic (I have posted my kitchen &bathroom, shortly after I moved into the apartment) and I like my bedroom to have a very feminine feel. All my furnishings and décor items are either found at the curb & refurbished (re-curb-ished?), bought second-hand, or from ikea.

I took these photos this morning. since my windows face east, I get so much light on sunny days, which rules... even though it begins at 6:30 these days. it's still one of my favourite things about my room.

view from the doorway. this is my dressing area; the small table was my bedside table that I recently posted about in show-us-your, but with a double bed in place of a twin, I had to move it to the only spot it would fit. now it's more of a place to put stuff when I come in.

this chair is one of my favourites in the world. I found it outside my old apartment building, removed the royal-blue-shag fabric cover to reveal a disintegrating foam cushion, cleaned it, made a new cushion for it.. and my old roommate's girlfriend gave me a fabric sample (she was studying interior design) to cover it with.

view of my tiny closet door. I love having a closet (especially one with a door!), but whomever designed it didn't do a great job... it is not deep enough to accommodate the width of an average hanger, so a lot of my clothes have to be hung on those pinchy skirt hangers, because they're the only kind that actually fit.

dresser, mirror, and second window.

detail of dresser/vanity area..

my desk area, facing back toward the door. I find this chair kind of ugly, but it's so comfy for working. the back is bright red so I covered it with a pillowslip that goes better with my room.

scarves & bags hanging place, between the entry and the closet door.

oh lord, my new bed. I've never had a headboard before, and I love this one; it makes me feel like I'm sleeping in an ornate garden. my friend just moved to a different continent and was getting rid of all her furniture, so I bought her bed & bedframe from her for almost nothing.

foot of the bed, laundry hamper, storage drawers, glorious window, dresser.

view of my desk & postcard line/inspiration board. my bookshelf above only has overflow from the bookcase in the living room (and nerdy teenager-y books that I don't want people to see! haha)

another detail of my postcard line. I didn't plan this, but the curve of the headboard goes so nicely with the dip in the line :)

because of rearranging and having to move my night table, my bedside necessities (alarm clock, water, book, lamp) now live on the edge of my desk. no big deal.

the end, hope you enjoyed!
