Peaceful Bedroom

I really, really need to do an updated view of our whole house - and I will, hopefully next week, I have just one project I need to finish up. Well, many more than that, actually, but that's kind of always the case - if I waited to be finished with everything (because that exists?) I'd never post. Anyway, here's an outdated look, just for context.

In the meantime, our bedroom!

The view from the above-pictured corner, looking into the bathroom.

Atop the dresser, one of these things is not like the others...my guy's plant, Edward, is still in the pot he lived in in his college dorm. I absolutely have never kept a plant alive a fraction of that long, so I guess I can't complain. It has character. The print is from an artwork by one of my college professors.

Above the desk, the print and photograms are mine, and I think the red felt die-cut is supposed to be a placemat.

Peering into the corner, with its wall of photos and tiny art. And more books. We're stockpiling in case there's a shortage. My plan for this weird ledge is to trim it out with molding to make it look more like an actual shelf and less like someone had no business building a wall.

This is a truer look at the wall color, too. It's looking pretty washed out in some of the other photos.

My favorite part :) I painted this tree just about a year ago, and I'm not sick of it yet, so I think we can call it a success.

edit because I just realized I should have posted a "before":

This part of the house was an addition built who-knows-when by an obvious non-professional. Yikes. It's been a labor of love :)

Thanks for looking!
