I am dying to get one of these phones, but I want one with a real rotary dial!

Though... I wonder if it would even work with today's phone lines? No clue. I just miss that sound!

oh, i totally agree. i love the clicky noise the rotary dials make. but, it would be a total pain to navigate today's ubiquitous customer service phone menus.

Oh wow, you're right. By the time it went all the way around for "press 1 for ____" they'd disconnect you. LOL!

rotary phones work with current phone lines. i had one up until a couple years ago :) you obviously can't use it with anything that uses DTMF tones (like customer service lines), but they're fine for making basic phone calls.

Check with your phone carrier first. I know in some places you cannot use them (my husband's grandmother was not thrilled when the phone company told customers they couldn't use rotary phones several years ago.

I think it only works if you get your phone service through a "real" phone jack in the wall, as opposed to through cable. that's how it works for me, I have my phone through a cable company. but the rotary phone works, it just doesn't ring. so I can talk on it when I feel like it, and rely on my modern phone for incoming calls :)
