The wall itself is the same color, but the stenciled pattern is different depending on the angle, lighting. It's gold and red, and when you face it head-on (as in the first shot) it looks more gold, but if you catch it from an angle, it's more flat/dark.
I love it. I have a stencil like this for my bedroom. I just haven't gotten to it yet... I'm nervous about it turning out. My only experience was with a leaf stencil I made that was much less intricate and just cut cardboard, I went in and did the finishing touches myself. It was rough. Anyway, it looks great =]
This stencil was a 2-part plastic one which I bought at Michael's. My only complaint is it was textured and very hard to clean the metallic paint off in between uses. My only advice is to use a pounce brush, not too soaked with paint, and just keep pouncing over it until it's the amount of color you want. Take pix when you do yours, please! :)
