Happy Friday Dwellers! What do you want to see today?

MOD NOTE: I am planning on getting back to work with silly_narziss on the community guidelines starting next week. It's been an off one for me. I am going to say that I am underwhelmed and a tad irritated that we are still seeing posts using poor quality photography ( Read more... )

I'm thinking some editing would help with boosting quality, and by that I mean members should only post their very best photo of their very best room. Unless your broom closet has been featured in Elle Decor we don't need to see a photo of it. And if the best camera you have is your iPhone then photoshop the pics before you post (I do this all the time with my iPhone pics)! You can find good photo editors online for free; eg. Gimp.

Thank you. I do need to pull together a list of online photo editing sites. I know that Flickr and Photobucket offer some tools these days as well.

Sumo is a very photoshop-like online editor (ie: you do it all on the webpage, no software downloading required), and could be a very valuable free resource.

Ah-ha a nice webapp. Thank you!

Edit Here is a photo I took a few months back under very low light conditions with my iphone that I then PS'd, and it didn't take a lot. Sure it's a little grainy, but at least you can see everything in there and it's relatively pleasant to look at.

personally i love google's picasa to brush up images, but i understand there's so many options now to edit images online.

i think asking of posters to come with legible images isn't too much to ask. digital cameras can really be used without flash whatever the lighting conditons in your home.

btw.... love that living room shot! hope to see more soon ;-)

I agree completely. I think some people are just lazy. I mean don’t just throw up your pictures straight from the phone or camera because you can’t wait for people to slobber all over them. Take a little time and effort to make a nice presentation.
Ha, soon, soon. I’ll have some time off for the holidays so maybe I’ll be able to get some nice photos then. :D

Picnik.com is amazing.
Free, you don't actually have to register, and it does so much.
:D
