My updated Bedroom

I spent this weekend redecorating my bedroom. I live in Houston, TX in a vintage apartment in midtown/museum district. It's small, but I love the hardwood floors and built-ins.   I took my color inspiration from a white orchid I found that has beautiful purple and yellow highlights with green stem and leaves.  I wanted something really girlie too since I'm being totally indulgent that way right now.

Creative criticism welcome...as with most of my spaces, it's always a work in progress.

The view from the bathroom

The rocker -- from my grandma (will be painted and seat recovered to match).
Tension lamp -- from my mom
Rug -- Anthropologie
Vanity chair -- garage sale in Wisconsin
Bed -- IKEA
Multi-colored pillow shams -- Anthropologie
Purple shams -- Ikea
Purple wall -- custom color from Sherwin Williams (I matched a shoebox)
Yellow Cabinet -- Ikea
Driftwood -- Austin, TX greenbelt
White Vases -- IKEA

View from the door, close up of the cabinet (this give the best idea of the true colors)

The bed and side table

The window (whoops forgot to remove the tag off that one succulent)

My greatgrandfather drew these

The vanity area (need to replace those brown shelves with glass and recover the chair)
I found the painting in Waukegan IL at a Salvation Army for $15

Still to be done:
Roman Shades for window
Replace rocking chair cushion
New milk-glass shade (one broke while I was painting)
High-quality silk orchids for vases
New alarm clock that matches theme
