The whole cabinet on the right is DVD's. Also, IKEA has organizers that permit you to use the drawers you see in the picture to store DVD's or CD's depending on which you purchase.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I checked out the IKEA website a while ago and tried using their little "build you own" thing and couldn't quite get it the way I wanted it. If they have what you have in a dark cherry finish or chocolate brown I'm saving my money to get this.
Trust me.... it wasn't all done at once. It took me two sittings to case all the movies (I watched Batman Returns and Die Hard 4 during the process to keep myself entertained!). Then the labeling was the hardest, as no one wants to peel off the backs of the stickers. After putting it off several times, I finally finished it after I had them all alphabetized. Once I had all the movies sorted out by letter of the alphabet and they were in smaller piles, it wasn't any big deal to sit down and label all of the "F" movies or the "S" movies. Now I just label and file as we buy them and it's no big deal! I wish I would have done it sooner.
It's weird to say... but it's very freeing to not be looking at all the titles all the time.
Was it expensive with buying all the CD cases? Did you go through a lot of labeling tape? & what did you do with all the DVD cases? Just throw them away?
Sorry if it seems that I'm interviewing you, hahah. I'm just so curious! Your AT post obviously made an impression on me :]
Don't worry about the interrogation! There are enough comments to that post that sifting through all of them for the right info would be a nightmare

600+ movies?! Oh, my! That's more than double what I've got. It was clever of you to donate the cases on Craigslist. I wouldn't have even thought of that. Much much better than throwing away all that plastic :] One more question (last one, I promise!) Do you do the same procedure for TV shows & box sets? One season of a show could use 3 or more jewel cases.
I don't keep my box sets because they take up so much space, but I just keep them in a CD wallet.
Anything super super special packaging... not just cool... but super cool.... we kept in it's case. Disney Movies as well. And the same went for boxsets. Those we keep in the drawer of a hutch in the same room as the credenza with the rest of the movies, so they aren't on display, but they are still in close proximity. We didn't want to get rid of packaging that might be of value is we sell the sets, or something along those lines later on.

I don't think I have the patience to do all of that though :]

The DVD's are inside the pink boxes in the middle.
