My tiny, purple studio

Apr 23, 2008 12:17

I've lived in this maybe 300sqft studio for two years now, and while I would like a little more space, I love it too much to move.  When I moved in, this is what it looked like:

From the doorway (kitchen is to the left, through the doorway near the windows):

From the window (bathroom and another walk-in closet is to the left):

And this is what it looked like as of last summer:

When I first moved into an apartment (before this one) I needed a couch, and this purple one from Ikea was the most comfortable and cheapest I could find.  When I moved into this place, my mom came to help me decorate, and was totally stumped and asked why on earth I would buy a purple couch. I think we did well though :-)

I have my tv and stereo set up in the corner (that's what the couch faces) but it doesn't particularly fit with anything else in my place, hence no pictures of that.

The triangle table unfolds to a square, which is just the right size for two. :-)

This is the view as you turn left at the large living room windows.  My computer is there, but that area is not especially nice-looking, so no picture of that.

My tiny bathroom:

And for those of you who are having trouble with figuring out how the apartment is laid out, hopefully this will help:

It's hard to take pictures of such a small space that actual show how it's laid out without making it look completely cramped, but I think you get the idea.  My favorite parts of my place by far are my windows (little birds would sit on my wrought iron railing all the time last summer and steal bits of my plants for their nests), and my "bedroom."  I've change around a few art pieces around since last summer, and am trying to decide how to change things up with the layout in living room since I'm getting a little bored with it, but trying to decide what to do there is my summer project. I would love to be able to paint, but alas...

Hope you liked it!
