My cozy colorful retreat

Aug 14, 2007 16:29

So me and my family are in the process of moving and I thought I'd take
some pictures of my current room space to remind myself of what it looked
like in it's prime, As a very spacious, cozy, and extremely colorful retreat.
(My goal for my next room is to have less color and simplify it up a bit.)

I have many favorite artists. most obvious being Miss Van, Jeff Soto, Swoon, Shepard Fairey,
and Audrey Kawasaki. If you'd like to know the artist of a specific picture, just ask and I'll be
happy to point them out.

exct.

a quick painting of mine, it's a quick one. maybe 12 minutes.
a sega dreamcast used primarly for playing jet grind radio and house of the dead.

dunny love.

10 dollar lamp I bought at a flea market, I needed it. It glows a really warm
red, and reminds me of women in the 1920's-30's, and cigarettes for some reason.

I organize by color, and the little tin can, is a tea can full of fortunes
from chinese cookies, about 50 or so. going strong. The books on the
bottom are all thrift store finds, all really good reference: animals,
plants, nature books. exct.(it's alittle messy)

More Miss Van, and an older drawing of mine.
In a gold frame my friend Kiana bought me.

This was not the most attractive chair. it has sad fabric. Sort of a hand me down gift,
I put one of my silk robes I bought in an airport touristy shop in Japan, to cover it's
hideousness, it's been there ever since.

My family really got into Eastern design and philosophy while
we lived in Kauai. I have a few others actually. The picture on
the left was given to me by a friend during a tea party.

I'm going to go into a sad sad place when I ave to take this down,
I made it out of paper. and cardboard pieces. I'm already making
another one in my other room, though I have no idea where it's
going, and I have been working on it since April, I'll possibly post
a few progress shots and maybe get some well needed suggestions.

my gtar, I'm working on it.

Old picture of my bed area, current blankets are all white. The map is from high coast
Sweden where I spent some time on a solo vacation.(I also just really like maps. And Karen O. Obviously.)

I love these, though it does get a bit bright come sunrise. It's either very lovely and warm,
or a nuscence of white, bright, burning light. Check out my ghetto fan on a stick. that's hand made.

technology. Aubrey Beardsly coasters, I keep my paintbrushes in a shoe,
for inspirational purposes. Oh and the fan is a present from girls day.
given to me by my aunt Nubuko.

I like this part the best, my art space. and a painting progress shot.
her right eye is off. I know this.

My cuddle buddy. She's such a sweet heart.

Some random items:
-Some of my Magazines.
-A deer Painting, my Grandpop gave me. You see this on the way up the staircase.
-micro cut outs, of more favorite artists (if you'd like to see more I'll definitely take a picture)
-Old Ship artwork I bought at an antique shop, here in Wi.
-Owl Birthday present from my Grandmum Junko (june-ko :-] )
-things on my closet's door nob, and a micro lantern I bought in bulk in Hong Kong.
-Favorite Miss Van art piece.
-The Spiral stairs leading up to my room.

and me, the owner of the room, I always like seeing how the owner
matches up with their living space.

That's all for now, a lot of things are packed away, but you get the idea, and I was going
to take pictures of my closet, and mite do so later. I also color organize there as well.
but that would be a weird post, just pictures of my closet and clothing?

if you want to see more detailed pictures, or perhaps more of something just ask.
