faux Deux

The clients got the chandelier in and installed today - several hundred golf ball sized chunks of Italian leaded crystal. We went over there tonight to see it with the painting that I did last weekend.

I had grown a little concerned that the strong colors in the niches might take away from the chandelier - especially after the barrage of negative comments I received here, but as it turned out my initial instincts were correct. The chandelier dominates the room and the strong colors I put on the walls are a perfect match for the fire from the bazillion crystal facets.

The clients love it, and the neighbors are hatin' it. So, what more could an artist hope for?

You can just make out the ceiling in this picture from the road.

I'll apologize for the pictures again - the scale of the room and the dynamic range of color and light are just too much for my poor little camera to capture properly - it's really much more elegant and delicate that these pictures can show.
