(no subject)
So...had a great lunch with Jordan, found prom dresses with Carla, came home saw Em for a little bit.
Then Dad checks his voice mail and we find out that my great-aunt is about to die. She's 93, so this really shouldn't be a shock. She's been in a nursing home for a few months, so it should be expected. But this woman is...indestructible. She was a registered nurse until she was 90 (not practicing, of course, but still licensed and up to date), she played Lacrosse and Basketball (she was a center) for UCONN in the late 20s. She was married young, but refused to be the stay at home trophy wife. She was amazing. As long as I've known her, she's been a osteoporosis shrunken biddy, but God is she spunky.
The most tragic part? She's dying of a broken heart. Her husband died about a year ago and her health has been declining ever since. She was perfectly fine before he died, but...she just couldn't take it.
Looks like we'll be heading to Connecticut soon.
