The event

MJ was...a spectacular boatload of fail, at least for me.  My one big thing for the event we had to scrap (though reschedule for the next event) due to the weather.  Only got to play 2 of my characters and didn't really have a stellar moment of roleplay as them.  Too many medical emergencies, though again, most could not be planned for or avoided.  Just ultimately ended being a horrendous event.

Granted, there was little that could be done to solve that issue as there is no way to control the weather.  When the power goes out to the campsite thanks to the severe high winds knocking trees down all over the area, there's not much you can do.  When the wells at the campsite require electricity to draw water, it's an even bigger problem.  When the power stays out for almost 13 hours and leaves you with absolutely no potable water whatsoever...then you're pretty much up the creek.

We stuck it out for as long as we could, despite seriously adverse conditions.

When the managers had to make the really tough decision at 8 in the morning on Sunday to not continue the event, then the only viable and reasonable option has been made.  With one cast member having collapsed the night before due to dehydration and numerous other cast and players commenting that they hadn't been drinking enough, trying to continue game for another 4 hours without the ability to provide drinking water (or toilets or showers) would have been ludicrous.  It sucks, but the safety of people comes before anything else.

So to the people who have or are criticizing the decision the end game early (and bear in mind that in the 13 years of MJ, this is the second time ever that game was ended early that I can recall) and baaaawwwing over the fact that we did it:  Eat a bowl of dicks.  It was done to keep you and your peers safe and to keep us from sending more people to the ER.  So get over yourself.
