So I sat down to update the journal.. only to realize- I really have to pee. Be right back. I promise..

Ok- don't you love those little awkward moments in your life that make you feel like a total idiot at the time, but when you look back at it- you wouldn't trade that single moment for any time you were cool, calm, and collected? Another friend of mine was telling me a story today about just such a moment.

She was at work just hanging out in the break room. In enters a boy whom she has never really talked to, but has always noticed. For good reason, she always seemed to pay particular attention to this boy any time she walked into work- he was cute, seemed to carry himself quite confidently, and had one of those voices that stuck in your head for hours after hearing him speak. This is not to say that she liked him, or loved him by any means, but he was definitely acceptable enough to think about for more an a few moments every single day. They never seemed to speak because at work they were in different departments and almost never ran into each other- when they did it was merely a "Hi," or "How are you?" The only conversation was basic trivial formalities of professionalism. As she was sitting at the table in the break room enjoying a sandwhich of arbitrary meats and cheeses, he walked in, said "Hi, how are you?," and she responded shortly after chewing her recent bite of sandwhich with a "Fine, and you?" He responded with, "Not bad," and that seemed to be the end of that. He sat down, and she contined with her sandwhich. She took another bite and as she did, noticed that he was unloading things out of his pocket shortly after sitting down. A wallet, followed by a phone, 3 pens, a screwdriver, some other funny looking tool items that surely opened/bent/or broke something, along with some spare change, a piece of paper, and a stick of gum. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at the random assortment of items amassing on the table right near her food. Maybe out of fear of contamination or sheer interest in starting conversation she opened her mouth once more, "Wow- You sure have a lot in your pants." ...
He looked at her after what seemed like forever to her, with a small smile on her face. "Uhm, thanks?" he questioned.
"Shit- that came out wrong," she desperately tried to resurrect the gutter-bound situation. It was to no avail. However, after that, the conversation flourished, followed by name exchange, shortly before the phone number exchange.

I love stupid times like these when you feel like a complete moron but in the end, because you were yourself, it turns out for the best. Yesterday I said do something you hate- maybe you'll like it. Today, I say, be yourself, you may find out that the someone you have been looking for finds you, as you, are wonderful. I know myself, that sometimes, I try to be the person I think other people want me to be. Yet in the end, I think it more satisfying and easier to find other people that like me for who I am rather than for who I can become.

That's all for tonight. Love you all ... take care and be yourself!
