It's odd, the things that make you want to cry at 3:00 AM, when you can't sleep and all you can think of is the rushing pass of time. Arguments you never had with folks you haven't seen in years. Plans you never pursued, now lost in the sweep of opportunity. Good days and bad nights and tearful voices on the phone. Songs you listened to non-stop in

Funny you should mention this idea. On my sound system - at ear-wrecking volume - I'm "road-testing" a new playlist I made this past week that's based on a mix-CD collection I made almost a decade ago***. Originally a five-disc history of Heavy Metal, it's been expanded - with copious additions to my MP3 collection since the original mix was burned in 2004 - into roughly nine hours of MET-ALLLLLL!!! From Metal's origins in Screamin' Jay Hawkins to new bands like High On Fire, from standbys like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Metallica to surprising yet significant parties like Nirvana, Skinny Puppy, The Runaways and Pat Boone, this playlist singes eardrums. Maybe when I'm feeling ambitious, I'll transcribe it here or something. Right now, though, I'm just letting the fucker roll! Up the Hammers!
Enough.**** Thanks!

* - I found some later albums from this band, but not the one I have on tape.
** - The West German '80s skatepunk band of that name, not the pop band that later claimed it.

If you can call before 4:30 you should be able to catch Dave Voorhees, the owner. He has a sort of "Willy Wonka of Music" thing with records and cds and stuff. He knows his stock inside out and is the reason I am as big of a music junkie as I am. Give him a call and ask him about the stuff you are looking for, if he doesn't have it in stock (which he will likely know off the top of his head) he can watch for it for you. tell him I sent you, he doesn't give me kickbacks or anything, but he is always really good to me and passes that to my friends as well. :D
