You seem to be fairly clued in with regard to everything that happened on Friday. Was there any link between the places attacked that you know of? I'd like to be aware, if there's any sort of pattern that would indicate who else might be in danger.

Okay, did you catch the gist of the protest at Uni last Monday? About not standing for this religious cult that want to change the way we live? They tried to shut me up for that, and the other places attacked were of people who spoke out against them too, more or less.

Yes, I'm aware of the nature of the protest. I see. That makes sense. It's all connected then. The religious attacks, the most recent calamity, everything. Hmm. So the other places attacked were the homes of people involved in your protest?

To be honest, I don't know about all of them. I know about what happened at McKinley and I know about what happened at one other place, but from what I do know, the others were involved in the same thing. It wasn't just the protest, either, there were other things too -things I don't actually know about but I've been told there are things. A resistance, sort of.

I'm assured with great confidence that it's over, though. Which... good, because no one needs a night like last night ever again.

So you're saying there was some sort of underground war being fought, that most of us don't even know about? Intriguing. So your theories were, in fact, quite accurate. I knew you had your finger on the pulse.

That being said, I'm sure you won't be letting yourself or others become complacent? Because you're quite right. No one needs another night like that.

My theories weren't entirely my own, I had some help from one of my friends who knows more than me. I tried to make it sound like all the ideas were mine so I wouldn't put anyone else in danger, I didn't want anyone to think I had connections because it seemed it would have been too dangerous. But hey, turned out it was dangerous anyway... But I had known it could get me into shit before I said anything on air.

You know, if you listen to Merry, there's always some sort of underground war being fought. I think in this case it just hit so close to home we couldn't not see it.

I don't think it's possible for me to be complacent anymore. I seem to have lost the ability when I decided to get off my arse and start being involved in the world and that was ages ago.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. A well-conceived course of action, Daria. You really seem to have thought of everything. I do believe you're a very good person to know. Things may be dangerous, but knowledge is power, and you seem to quite epitomise that adage.

It's interesting to listen to Merry. She sometimes carries her ideas beyond the realms of... shall we say, practicality? But she always has a new perspective to offer, it seems.

I really have a great deal of respect for you, Daria.

Why thank you, Mr Satyr! You're not so bad yourself! Seriously, though, I think you do wonders yourself, especially for Alice. Even if sometimes I have to pray to the great dictionary in the sky to figure some things you say :P

And I think that sums our Merry up to a tee.

It does my soul good to read that. I only want the very best for Alice. If that is evident to you, then I feel I am doing well. I know how protective the Waterhouses are of each other, and rightfully so.

I'll put in a good word for you with the dictionary deity.
