While at this time in my life I cannot say that I am really happy, I have had some very happy moments recently that at least make me feel happy for a little while:
- A weekend visit with my sorority mom, her awesome kitty cat, seeing Kari and Tory from Mythbusters (Kari is really hot), and fun times with Kaytee.
- Last weekend I had friends fighting over wanting to hang out with me. That felt good.
- My social work policy group. I love them. I will miss hanging out at Sara's place and working with them, and making fun of people in class. And after we finished our presentation yesterday, we had nice group hugs. And they all wanted to go out afterwards to get a drink, but I told them it would be better for my schedule to go next week, and they all said "Ok, well we aren't going to go anywhere without Melanie, so we will go next week." I loved that moment!
- A late (well 10pm late!) night run to Blockbuster with Nat, my semi-roommie, in our pajamas! And her brother pretending to be drunk and falling on the kitchen floor. And her cute kitties. And to my air mattress that deflated over night! And to laying on the couch watching Gilmore Girls. I don't feel like such loner dork anymore, because Nat does a lot of the same stuff I usually do! And I can't describe how much I appreciate all her hospitality.
- My best sorority friends begging me to come to semi-formal even though I don't have a date...then deciding I would go as Jenny's date, and Dusta telling me she wants to share a room with me and will come out to Naperville to get ready for the dance with me, so I don't have to go alone, since Jenny, my date, has to decorate the hotel and has to meet me there.
- Thursday night hang outs, and going to chapter, although I do feel a bit like a loser for still going, but everyone says they want me there.
- Making a date for myself to move out into an apartment in the city by January. I sincerely hope it will be both me and Maia though!
- Being able to drag myself out of bed every morning.
- Not calling Lindsay all the time, even though I am still tempted to do so.
- Successfully surviving while my parents are in Italy for 10 days.
- My new awesome hair color(s). Though it does make me feel a bit emo!
- Monday night, seeing So You Think You Can Dance, with Lindsay. We had great seats, and I got to see Lauren many times, and she is hotter in person! Plus I still like hanging out with Lindsay..not sure if she feels the same way though yet?
- Knowing that what I had Lindsay is irreplacable for both of us, and no matter what, we will always have our memories and each other in our hearts. You can't erase the past 2 years and 8 months of our lives, and I am very glad for that.
