Meet the parents
I haven't updated in forever, and it seems like quite a few major things have happened in the last month or so, that I feel I cannot rightfully update this thing, so here is a quick summary of the major things in my life...
- On July 28 I am having 2 hour long oral surgery to not only extract my only two wisdom teeth, which are of course impacted, but more importantly to extract one of my two remaining baby teeth that has been infected with an abcess, and getting an implant put it...which is basically a screw in my gums that will house a crown on top of it to act like a real tooth...but the crown won't be put on for a year, cause this screw business has to heal, so I guess I am lucky this tooth is way in the bottom back of my mouth so no one can see the mess it will be! My mom is coming with me, and so is Lindsay, and I will be on 5 different meds the night before and during surgery, I am a little scared of what I will become!
- I got fired from my job. Then I fought it, and in the meantime I got another job, and then last week I got my old job back. Victory for me! But until July 31st I have to juggle these two jobs.
- My summer school class is more than half way done, and I feel like I have learned nothing! I wish I took this in the fall, cause I am worried none of my fall classes will be blow offs to me like this summer class is.
- My search for grad schools is narrowing, but my nervousness about how to afford ANY of them is expanding!
- Went to gay day at great america.
- Went to the Michicgan Dunes with Lindsay, Maia and Liz for a weekend, and it was fun, but filled with mishaps including forgetting about the time difference so we had to put off strawberry picking, and Lindsay falling in the mudpit and hurting her foot so bad she literally crawled over and down huge sand dunes to get back to my car.
Today, my parents met Lindsay's mom for the first time ever. It was exciting! Even if it only lasted a minute...maybe two...I guess I thought this wouldn't happen for a long time, but Lindsay's mom is in town so it happened today. Yay!
I need to go back to to writing my stupid Psychology 303 paper, and get down to the city to have a romantic 4th of July evening with my lover :)
