Where The Heart Lies

Summary: Edward and Al return from Germany after frightful events that make them realise it really isn't where they are meant to be after all. But when Edward finds out his heart still lies with a certain childhood friend even after four years, he will do anything to break her free from the prison she has created for herself.

Pairing: EdxWin

Genre: Competition, Romance, Smut (Yes smut! So don't read if you can't take it!)

Warning: There may also be scenes which you find offensive in the exposure of Winry and how she is being treated by certain people. But let me tell you she isn't the suicidal lost all hope type it seems she is at the start.

Sorry it took so long guys, I hope it ties you over!

Winry awoke to a sound coming from Edward’s room. Some-one had forgotten to turn the lights on. “Damn my husband! Goes to work and leaves the house in darkness.”

She took a glance at the clock and barley made out that it seemed to be about seven at night, Edward should be home. Somehow that made her feel giddy inside. She once again turned her attention to Edward’s room and allowed her feet meet the cold surface of the floor.

“Edward?” When she didn’t get any reply she walked towards his room slightly light headed and peeked through the tiny crack in his door, the house still in darkness, including his room. Why did she feel like butterflies where doing 1000 km an hour when she felt his presence near by?

“Winry…?” His voice was dark and mysterious as she felt her feet step forward. She had forgotten how it made her feel when he said her name, especially when she was in a dark room alone with him.

“Turn some god damn lights on Edward… I can’t see”

“Good” She gasped as she felt his arms slink around her waist and realised he must have been waiting behind the door. She heard the bedroom door quietly click shut and closed her eyes as she felt his breath against her neck.

“In my room again huh…?” He whispered into her ear. “Well if you want to be in my room…”

“See Edward! This is why I said you couldn’t be near me. What do you think you are doing? Let go!” Her struggle had no effect and her voice faded away into heavy breathing when she realised how warm it was against his chest.

“You knew that we would end up playing around?”

“No!”

“But you want to don’t you?”

“Even if I wanted to Edward, I’m married!”

“Tell me the truth”

“Edward let go of me…” She knew her voice wasn’t convincing at all, and it only brought his lips closer to her neck, till she could almost feel the warmth and longed for the warmth to actually caress her.

“I just want to make you feel like you should…”

She felt herself sink back into him as his palm that was flat on her stomach slowly slid down to her upper thigh.

“W-what… d-do you mean… I feel fine” She couldn’t help but let out a moan of complete and utter desire as his fingers lightly brushed over her underpants, lifting her dress up to his advantage, or perhaps hers. She let her head go completely blank as his hands toyed with her in all the right ways, causing her to feel things she had yet to feel. Like the desire to actually make love to him there and then. Something she had never felt within her marriage. Wait… marriage… that’s why she couldn’t do this! She was about to voice her protest but she lost the thought as his lips engulfed her ear with tantalizing kisses and licks.

“mmm Ed… stop… you have to stop… nnn oh god Ed put your hands on me… I mean don’t!”

“You should have married me Winry…” She felt her back arch as he massaged her upper thighs, his knuckles brushing against sensitive parts of her woman hood.

“Oh I should have married you…” She moaned.

“You should be making love with me every night…” His lips trailed lower on her neck.

“I agree… Ed… don’t stop… please please…” She raised her hands to wrap them around his neck and turned her body so their chests were touching. “Kiss me Ed…”

She leaned forward only to meet his fingers which now rested in front of his mouth. It didn’t stop her though, she began to kiss and caress with her lips and almost took the two digits into her mouth with anticipation of soon meeting his lips, before he pushed her away gently.

“But you didn’t marry me Winry and we can’t do this.”

“Oh don’t fucking stop there you bastard! Come back here!”

Edward frowned as he took a sip from his soup at the table; the woman who had been peacefully sleeping on the couch for the past twenty minutes, was apparently having a very frustrating dream. He shrugged and glanced back down at the newspaper before she started her groans and heated puffs again.

“You can’t stop halfway you jerk! Edddddddd!”

Edward glanced back at the woman with the mention of his name and furrowed his eyebrows. “Stop halfway?” He stood from the table and peered at her curiously as he watched her hands run down her body. So it was one of those dreams.

Edward placed his hands on her shoulders and gently shook her. “Winry… wake up…”

When his gentle pushes didn’t work he turned the volume up a bit. “WINRY!” Her eyes snapped open and instantly raged with fury.

“There you are you jerk!” She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and attempted to pull him down onto the couch with her. He did however resist and jerk away.

“Winry… it was a dream.”

While he hung over her very attractive body he tried not to think about all the things he could do to her from this position and remained still for his own sanity as she gathered her sense of reality. He wanted to do this with her, but it all seemed too soon. It was the second night and she was already trying pull him down on top of her. He didn’t suspect that Winry would have initiated any sort of contact… but maybe he was wrong.

“Sorry, I thought you were someone else…” She suddenly blurted out.

“Uh… it’s okay…” He wasn’t going to mention the fact that he knew very well who she had been dreaming about, but passed it off as nothing. After all he’d had erotic dreams about people he had never even met. The brain was a funny thing when it came to these things. No matter what she had been dreaming, he could tell she was extremely worked up, her breathing was ragged, she squirmed against him and still wasn’t protesting to the fact he was practically on top of her… or very close. Ed watched her with slight fascination as her breathing continued to get heavier while she looked up at him. He shot her a suspicious look, causing her defences to rise increasingly.

“I just told you it was about someone else!” She whined when her gaze met his eyes. She could tell he knew… and she could tell what he was thinking.

“Uh… sure…” If she got this worked up whenever he touched her, it was going to be very easy teaching her all the ways he could make her feel.

There was another moment of silence as Winry breathed heavily under him, her arousal still not fading… if she was really thinking about someone else Edward couldn’t help but think she would have calmed down by now.

“So… how was work…?” She managed to get out breathily, her body once again trying to get closer to his.

“All I could do was think about you, I’m worried about you Winry…”

“Ed…”

“I just can’t help but…” He finally rose from his position and gave her a grin. He tried not to notice the sudden tensing of her muscles beneath him and brushed some hair from her face that she hadn’t cared to remove herself.

“Ed you need to stop playing around. I’m married now. You had your chance before… but you blew it didn’t you? Her sudden harsh comment caused him to loose all desire. “Besides you tried to tell me today that we weren’t meant to be, what’s with the mood swings? I’m M-A-R-R-I-E-D.”

“He’s the worst kind of guy Winry!” Edward rose from the couch and sat back down in his chair.

“You just don’t know him Edward! And you’re lucky he wasn’t here to see the position you were just holding me in! He would have killed the both of us.”

Edward coughed and tried to suppress his smirk. “You’re just lucky he wasn’t here to hear what you were yelling during your sleep.” He instantly looked away with a chuckle when her face lit up.

“What did you hear Edward?”

“Oh nothing…” He stuck the spoon in his mouth and delighted in the taste of the warm broth travelling down his throat.

“Ed!”

“What?” He gave her an innocent look as she slammed her hand down on the table he was sitting at.

“Tell me what you heard!”

“Nothing at all…” Edward couldn’t help but smirk again. He wasn’t holding the dream against anyone… but he could tell she had enjoyed the dream from the blush creeping up on her face.

“I was trying to find you… you were hiding, that’s why I was calling your name if you heard that...”

“Oh really? You were calling out my name?”

“What you didn’t hear?” He saw the regret instantly fall from the top of her eyes down to her mouth as her face became overcome with a red blush. He knew very well she was calling out his name, but it was nice to play with her like that. Like she used to do with him back in the days he was still new at this whole thing.

“No… I just heard something about not stopping halfway. And if you were calling out my name that would mean…” He stopped as soon as her blushed turned to a pale sick expression and patter her on the back and told her to calm down. He rolled his eyes at her and held out his bowl of soup. “Try some…” Winry was so busy trying to come up with an excuse that she didn’t even realise the bowl in front of her and gasped.

“Eh?”

“I made it, try some?”

Winry hesitantly sat down and let Edward guide the spoon into her mouth. She tried not to blush over the fact that Edward had just given her an indirect kiss and nodded her head with approval. “That’s really good Ed! You come back taller, mature, and with cooking skills, I don’t know what to say.”

“Yeah… I guess we both got a shock huh.” He put the bowl down as the momentary pain of Winry’s marriage to someone else sunk in temporarily.

“Ed…”

“Well anyway I made some for you; it’s up there on the bench. I planned to give it to you when you woke up. It should still be pretty warm.”

“You made something for me?”

“Well you looked beat Winry, but you were just having a nice dream all along.” He poked his tongue out at her when she began to blush again.

“But you were at work all day… and…”

“Winry just shut up and eat it okay. It was no trouble to make something for you.”

Winry sat back down in her chair with the bowl and sighed as she ate it. Just little things like this were enough to make her happy. The fact he had gone out of his way to cook her something delighted her in the best of ways. She held the bowl to her face and closed her eyes as she blew on the contents to cool them.

“So Winry… what was it like falling in love with Mark?”

She’d heard the question from Edward, but all she could do was place the bowl down in silence. What was she supposed to say? That she never really liked her husband… she’d just had some feelings towards him at some stage? Could she let Edward know she had married a man she didn’t love at all, and certainly had no feelings of desire towards now? Could she tell him that she had actually fallen head over heels with Edward when they were fifteen? Could she tell Edward that she had tried her best to forget him and her feelings, only to fall even faster as soon as he had arrived back? She loved Edward, she always had. And she knew deep down in her heart that he knew that.

“I never fell in love…”

Edward watched her lower her head.

“…with him…”

Edward sighed and turned his attention back to the newspaper.

“I see…”

They both knew exactly what she meant, and all they strived to do was finish their soup in silence as they enjoyed each other’s treasured company.
