graduated

I assume I have graduated. I guess I should look at my marks tonight, right? Yaaay.

I have just started using the wonderful Microsoft OneNote to lay out my life plans. I love the fact that it opens directly into a notebook-style collection of your thoughts. SO AWESOME, now I can really cut down on the amount of random Notepad files I have laying around of random ideas that needed to be recorded.

To give an idea of what has been on my mind lately, here's roughly what I've been writing down... I have tabs for:
- small business advertising
- summer goals (which includes small and large-scale to-do lists)
- meal planning, exercise planning, and body measurements
- reading and media (which is likely to include a long list of documentaries on my viewing wishlist very soon)
- and expert hours.

Expert hours is the only one that needs explanation. So supposedly it takes roughly 10,000 hours of work to become an expert in some type of activity. So I want to chart a few things and hopefully become better at them. Simple as that... I don't expect to actually get to 10,000 while still maintaining the same OneNote file (that would be a miracle for many reasons). But I do intend to inspire myself towards focused goals that way, by consciously trying to make my time count.

Amongst the things I would like to practice or learn more about, are violin, Margaret Cavendish (yep), Victorian literature, drawing, and building. Cavendish/Victorian categories will be all just reading I guess. Drawing will include painting hopefully. And by building I mean some woodworking, or some small-scale projects. Maybe it will become more mechanical than I intend now, since part of that should go towards "retrofitting" my bike. As in, fixing or removing the damaged parts as the case may be. In any case, I would like to get some practical, stereotypically male tasks in my realm of experience. I helped replace the battery in the van today, which I suppose is a good start, though it took only about 10 minutes.

At the top of my list for the next week will be job hunting, as well as minimizing my possessions. I feel like this happens every summer. Hmmm... maybe it does.
