Back after a considerable LJ dry spell. Happy to see me? I thought so. :)

Today I wasted my afternoon collecting game items on Gaia. I have crunched paper, old boots, rusty cans, bugs, flowers, and casino tickets coming out my ears. It's such a good escape. Comfortably simple. Requires patience, though. Five hours of patience.

I'm in a streak of optimism currently and I hope to actually do some programming tonight. That's right, a couple days ahead of the duedate. There's a first for everything.

Handed in my essay, finally, three weeks late. My prof was so ridiculously nice about it. And I'm a little bit sad that the class is over. It was... the best. The best of what, I'm not sure, but it was at the top of its game. Empowering and informative. Like a Rosa class, except with more of an open-discussion atmosphere. We watched a video about the internet and various related subjects on Friday... apparently The Internet looks like blurry traffic, or the Northern Lights.

Reading student articles gets your brain going sometimes. The "Sex Issue" of our Guelphie Student mag called The Peak is out, so I picked up a copy because my friend Stacey seemed so enthusiastic about it. Also because I wanted to read articles about sex. Anyway, so I read some of it. And now I feel motivated. Which is, of course, why I'm writing in LiveJournal... :P What a waste of good, non-specific energy.

Wait. I need another coffee. The first one somehow made me feel more tired.

Three more class days. Then exams. Then looking for work, and then actual work. And relative freedom, by comparison. I like work because it doesn't intrude on what you see to be "personal time." Coursework happens on your own time, for the most part. Work just stays at work. And as long as you show up on time and carry out the required motions, you're a good worker. Depending on your perspective you could look at it as anything from cosy to liberating.

The problem with coursework is that when you try to create that kind of cosiness, it hurts you in the long run.

Speaking of run... someone, plzplzplz take up jogging with me in the summer. You'll thank yourself later! I will too!
