The first five few people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level.

LET'S DO THIS SHIT

Considering how long this took, you have every right to expect an epic of lesbianosity, but you get this instead. >_>;;

***

Since they started walking back from Junes, Chie has been trying desperately to resist asking if Yukiko needs some help. She wants to believe it's just because she seems exhausted - she's stumbled once or twice, almost lost a zouri in the process. But she's scared that she's only asking because she wants to know that Yukiko is still dependant on her.

"Maybe we should sit down for a second?" she says, timidly, as a compromise with herself.

Yukiko nods. "Yes. ...Thank you." So they find a covered bus stop, and Chie helps Yukiko arrange her kimono so she can sit down with the bare minimum of fabric-to-bench contact. "Not that it makes much difference now," says Yukiko, with a shaky laugh, looking over the dirt and grime she's accumulated in the TV.

They sit there for a while and listen to the rain fall on the roof.

"I can't believe this is real," says Yukiko at last. "I don't know what to think."

"Yeah, it's pretty weird, huh?"

Yukiko sighs. "Sure is."

"Uh, so, Yukiko, I..." starts Chie, then stops. She's not sure how to say what she wants to say.

What she wants to say is that even though she's had times when she would have given anything to be Yukiko, more often she's just happy to be around her, to watch her talk and laugh and breathe. That she feels there's more to their friendship than envy and codependancy. That what her Shadow said was the truth, but there are other truths, other sides of her. That there's more than one reason she wanted Yukiko all to herself. That most of the time, it wasn't even Yukiko she was jealous of.

But maybe that stuff is going to take time.

For now, she does what she can, and holds out her hand. Yukiko takes it, squeezing tightly. Her hand is trembling slightly, but it's warm, safe.

"Let's go, okay?" she says, and they do.

This is so perceptive. It's good to see them fumbling toward processing the aftermath of Shadow!Yukiko. My impulse is to crazily fast-forward to ~domestic rabu~ but this sort of thing needs to be sorted out first, really, doesn't it ahaha.

Also YAY HAND-HOLDING

Thank you for this! Allow me to register my encouragement of further expeditions into lesbianosity, epic or not. XD;
