Bought Shadow Hearts 3 on Saturday and played it for the first time tonight. All I can say is WOW.
Johnny Garland: Girl Detective. No, on a serious note, I'm glad the Shadow Hearts series finally has a female protagonist... BURN! I had trouble getting used to his VA, but it's not bad at all. I like him so far, although he has yet to learn the most important rule of being a detective, which is to never take cases from midgets. And what's with that little Pebbles ponytail? Weird!
Shania, of course, is hella butch. ...Aaaaaand of course nobody notices a 1/3 clad Native American princess running around New York. I don't have a handle on her character so far, but her fusion (the one I've seen) looks really, really neat. And the Magical Girl transformation? SWEET.
I somehow get the feeling that Natan is going to be totally overlooked by the plot. But anyone who gets his skills from catching Bigfoot is okay in my book.
Frank... what can I say about Frank? He's a character along the lines of Joachim, in that it feels like the desginers picked character traits out of a hat ("Okay, he's... got funny speech patterns! And he's... a ninja! ...From Brazil!") What a wonderful way to go about it.
Sooo glad about all the things that have returned. It's not lazy to stick with what works.
Also, GERARD IS MY NEW ROLE MODEL. I WILL BE JUST LIKE HIM SOMEDAY. I'm so glad he found love. If only we could say the same for Zhuzen.
Unfortunately I have never ever been to the East Coast, especially not during the 30s, so I can't critique the layout of ingame New York.
$300 says the Lady is Johnny's sister.
