Made Callbacks
As it implies in the above title, made callbacks for the school musical. And was extremely suprised when I was asked to read for the lead.
See, apparently the heroine of this musical (Once Upon a Matress) is kind of, uh, butch. More of a character part than the typical leading lady. So I sang "Shy" and made the audition panel laugh until their faces went read, and I did the lines as well as I possibly could in a dry run, because it is so unusual that I would even be considered for a lead.
The problem now is that I really hope I get this character. Previously I was perfectly happy to play the queen, who is (obviously) a character role, but now that I know I might be this part... I really, really want to get it. And when I don't, and I don't think I will because convention always wins out in high school shows, I'll be so, so disappointed.
So yeah. Hope I get it.
