I love love LOVE having time off at this time of year. However, my days are not quite what I had planned. I was going to start my running avidly again and hit yoga as much as possible. However, for whatever reason, my back decided not to join the party and I have spent the last two days wandering around in a bit of pain. I couldn't even sleep properly last night due to occasional back spasms. So not fun! I still don't know how this happened. I do experience these bouts of pain every now and then but it's usually due to poor yoga or weight lifting posture, neither of which happened. Anyways, good thing I have some great new books to keep me company.
But I could definitely have it worse. Seb was supposed to be here last night and I had a whole whack of cheese, vodka and chocolate to share with her. But her dad was in a very serious car accident on Boxing Day (a multi car pile up on the Port Mann bridge) and she is now spending her break in the hospital. Incredibly awful news, but it really could have been so much worse. I actually saw pictures of his car on the news before I had any idea that it was him and was wondering how someone could survive something like that. How is that for some perspective? Don't ever take anything or anyone for granted.
I have spent the last few days shopping (when not laying on the couch moaning in pain) and it has been amazing. I am so good most of the time about not spending but when I unleash that tiger - lookout! I got an awesome new coat, new jeans, assorted new other bits and bobs. I am still looking for a New Years outfit. And a New Years event for that matter. Ideas anyone? Not so sure what we are doing but as long as it involves sequins and champagne it can't really go wrong.
