Books and movies memes!

Books meme:

1) Total number of books owned:

Eh... at least three hundred, I think. Of course, that's nowhere near the number of books I want to own.

2) Last book I bought:

Was way too long ago. I really want to go to one of my favorite used-book stores once I get back home and go crazy.

3) Last book I read:

Orlando by Virginia Woolf

4) 5 books that mean a lot to me:

1 // The Song of the Lioness Quartet by Tamora Pierce, especially In the Hands of the Goddess
Not the best books ever, but I fucking love them, anyway. I think Alanna was the first character I ever made a costume for myself. The books are hardly classic literature, but they're fun, and they're at least slightly feminist, and they're fantasy. I am so there.

2 // Dicey's Song by Cythia Voigt
This is my new favorite ad lit book

3 // The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis
The best ad lit books ever, these young persons' fantasy books are great before and after you understand the religious symbolism. Besides, the savior of the world as a talking lion? Too fucking cool.

4 // Orlando by Virginia Woolf
Before, I liked Virginia Woolf. Now, I love her, and it's all due to this book.

5 // Harper Hall Trilogy, by Anne McCaffery
McCaffery's one of the best scifi writers out there today, and these are the books that introduced me to her worlds.

5)Tag three people and have them fill this out in their journals:

miiro, paris_marriott, and lord_blackjoker

Others are welcome to fill it out as well.

Movie meme:

Total number of films I own on DVD or video:

Personally, fifteen or so. My family owns at least forty.

Last film I bought:

Hmm... might've been Control Zero.

Last film I watched at the cinema:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Last film I watched on DVD:

Miracle, though I've watched the Star Wars movies, Original Trilogy, old school, more recently than that.

Five films that I watch a lot or mean a lot to me:

1) Star Wars Original Trilogy, especially The Empire Strikes Back

The absolute best example of myth we have in the modern world.

2) A Clockwork Orange

It's violent, and visceral, and I fucking love Kubrick's films. It's also really good when connecting Virginia Woolf to Ziggy Stardust. (It's possible, people.)

3) Hook

This was my favorite non-musical movie, as a child. I dreamt of resurrecting Rufio, and named my first dog Pockets.

4) But I'm A Cheerleader

So freaking funny. Everyone over the age of sixteen, gay or straight, male or female, should watch this movie.

5) Newsies

Hoyay subtext and a bassline that gets stuck in your head for literally a decade? This is a can't-miss flick.

I'm tagging the same people on this one, but everyone else should answer it too.
