Happy October to all! It’s been a while since I’ve updated so here’s a little update from my corner of the world (I do know that the world doesn’t have corners, but it is a turn of phrase that’s commonly accepted :p).
It’s been a busy school year so far I’ve helped organize and execute several events for AQ’s GEO club. We’ve had a pot-luck dinner, building a mini park down town for “parking day”, a grand river clean up and this week is full of homecoming events! I’ve also written and presented my summer research. Over fall break I’m presenting in a 20minute time slot at the conference for the East Lakes Division for the Association of American Geographers…yikes! Oh, yes I’ve also been taking 17 credits of classes. I’ve had a lot of fun but I’m looking forward for the half a semester to wind down so I might be able to relax a little bit.
The other night I had a crazy dream that I think I might as well share. I was giving another presentation about my research at Pierce Cedar Creek. A couple of friends came with me for moral support, and after we needed a ride back to GR. One of the workers at PCCI said he could take us back, so we hopped into his car and he started driving. I informed him that this is not how you get to GR from PCCI, he said he wanted to show us something cool before we went back. We got out of the car and started to hike along a trail that had trees on either side of the path way. The guy told us to run, and we started to run. Then he pulled out a gun and started shooting at us. We broke off and ran into the woods, we got to the high way yet no one stopped to help us. In the dream I thought, “how can I make this situation better…I could wake up!” So needless to say that freaked me out a little bit, but I’m better now.
I hope everything is going well with everyone!
