Have to Drive.

I PASSED MY DRIVING EVALUATION! ^_________^;;

Actually, the whole experience was as easygoing as it was intriguing. The people at RIOSA (Rehabilitation Institute of San Antonio) were all really nice and patient. One of them even showed me where the coffee was in the cafeteria. XD Strangely, despite the small inner scare I had when I saw an undressed stretcher in the same area as where the driving simulator was, the place had a very relaxed, non-hospital vibe. I don't know how to explain it. I almost inquired about volunteer work, except that they only photos on physical, occupational and speech therapy, which is different from what I'm interested in. So continuing to seek volunteer work at a battered women's shelter or at the bereavement center, it is...

It only struck me yesterday that the career I'm interested in pursuing means I'm pretty much joining an aspect of the medical community I've always wanted to escape. >.> I feel like I should be more surprised about this, but on one hand...I'm not. It's just an interesting realization.

But look, the point is I passed, okay? That puts me one step closer to independence, one step closer to freedom--to cruising around the freeways at night with Revenge blasting out of my speakers. XD I still have to get a permit (which reminds me; must get the book from my brother), do some behind-the-wheel training (Erica, the adorable girl in charge of my evaluation, actually found me a place on the east side of town), and pass a driver's test, but I passed my evaluation. After three-and-a-half years, I've gotten in and passed it. That makes me feel really good. ^^; It was totally worth getting up at 6:45 in the morning. XD

So now I'm here, working on trying to make sense of this CSS for an artist friend of an artist friend. So far, I've figured out how to make it the requested colors. Now let's see if I can make it look even better. I had to talk to Social Security this morning--always a nerve-wracking experience (but only a yearly one)--and then I made a bunch of postcards for Postcrossing. I'm pretty sure I'm growing addicted to Postcrossing. It's just so cool! The first card I got was a Van Gogh pastiche. From Holland. If that's not incentive to make and send more postcards...

ftw!, postcrossing, medicine, social security, epic win!, art therapy, postcards, driving test
