I have a new found hate for allergic reactions.
On monday I carried out my normal routine of showering and then later that day washing my face with a facial scrub product, toner and mosturiser. All products I have used before, the only difference is that the conditioner bottle has had the colours changed on the label.
Tuesday, I have a small rash under my ear. Annoying, yes; lifethreatening, no. Wednewsday as I am sitting in work all of a sudden my face feels like it is burning up from the inside out... Yes, that is my face going bright red, itchy and inflammed. Two work collueges watch on as you can see it spreading arround my neck. No problem, I'll wash my hair and skin with a different shampoo/conditioner that I know I am not allergic to and wash my skin. I also started taking an antihistamine.
Thursday. Face is still bright red, itchy and inflammed. Use some E45 cream on it as that usually helps soothe any allergic reactions I've had in the past.
Friday it decides it hates me and flairs up to as bad as it was on Wednesday, maybe even worse. I want to claw my face off but so far haven't scratched it once. Went over to the minor injuries department at work to get a cream or something but they were beyond useless so later that day I went to the chemist who recomended a cream Eurax (Active ingredient crotamiton) For the first time my face looked a normal colour and the itching stopped.
Saturday and sunday weren't too bad, the rash seemed to be calming right down. on sunday I only applied the cream once. It is definately an allergic reaction as we swabbed it at work to check it wasn't a group A strep (sore throat) causing it.
Monday. The anti itch cream seems to be failing but I can get a that day appointment at the doctors (monday only) They've all gone but I can have a telephone consultation. My face and neck are itch and startng to go red again so I take what I can get. Now I have a hydrocortisone cream for my face. I hope to god it works. I don't think I've had as many people stare at me as did last week. I just want it to heal and my skin to feel normal and soft, not rough and dry.
So, yeah, allergic reactions suck. Not being able to hide it because I have to have my hair away from it sucks too. I thought hayfever was bad because I look like I have a constant cold through summer. I just want to go to sleep and hide until it goes away. if only the itching would let me get a good nights sleep.
I think I've bitched enough, bye.
